BIG FAT MEGANISI WEDDING

We’re Getting Married!

Friday 5th June 2026

We would absolutely love you to join us in celebrating our wedding on Meganisi island in Greece on Friday 5th June 2026.

There will be a ceremony followed by drinks and dinner at one of our favourite places in the world.

We hope you can join us.

Below you’ll find details for the wedding, along with optional events before and after, plus travel and dress code information.

We really hope you can join us, please let us know via the RSVP.

the day before:

Thursday 4th June

Dinner at Lakis Taverna in Spartachori.

We’d love to kick off the celebrations by inviting you to dinner at Lakis Taverna in Spartachori village. This is one of our favourite and most loved restaurants on the island, laid-back, Greek and family-run. Their yiayia (grandma) used to dance with a table on her head! The food is sharing style, relaxed traditional taverna food with an incredible grill. The exact time will be confirmed closer to the date.

The estimated cost per head will be around €20-30 (final price will vary depending on numbers). Please let us know on the RSVP if you’d like to attend and how many seats you’d like us to save you.

Saturday 6th June

The Pirate Boat

For some lazy day-after joy (and depending on numbers) we have reserved what we call 'the pirate boat’, a local legendary vessel 'The Odysseia' for an afternoon of island hopping, sea swimming, cold mythos and a late lunch on the beach.
Departure time is TBC - roughly 1pm - from Spilia harbour (where the ferry comes in). We will head to a few different swimming spots including the famous Meganisi caves, before going ashore for a relaxed BBQ cooked on the beach and sailing back at golden hour. Wine, drinks and snacks will be available on board and there's space on the flat deck for dancing too! The cost per head will depend on how many people would like to join - roughly €40-50. Please let us know in the RSVP if you'd like to attend.
Hopefully you’ve booked your flights by now, here's the info you'll need to reach Meganisi.
Preveza-Aktion National Airport (PVK) is the closest airport to Meganisi. But you can also reach Meganisi via flights to Athens (then ~4 hours drive to Lefkada) or Kefalonia (ferry to Vasilki on Lefkada).
Travel to Meganisi is usually via the Meganisi II ferry.
The ferry departs from Nydri on Lefkada (Lefkada is confusingly also an island but attached to the mainland via a short bridge).
To drive from Preveza airport to Nydri on Lefkada takes approx 45-50 mins. Google maps here.
You can hire a car from Preveza airport or prebook a taxi to collect you (the cost is approx €60 - let us know if you’d like the number for Spiros, who you can WhatsApp in advance and who will confirm this for you). If you arrive on foot, you can also hire a car directly on Meganisi.
This is the ferry timetable - select the month to see the times - (NB if your outbound is in May and your return in June!)
Take the Meganisi II ferry - there is no booking system, you just drive or walk on to the ferry about 15-20 mins before the departure time and Apostoles (yes, that’s his name) will walk around and collect the money. It’s €1.70 per passenger, (free for under 5s) and €12.90 for a car. The crossing takes approx 20-30 minutes.
Google maps link: Meganisi II ferry leaves from here in Nydri.
Please send us a text if your flight arrives at an awkward time or if you need any help with this. There is also the option of taking a water taxi (you can book this as an individual or as a group) across to Meganisi.

Travel to Meganisi

We hope you will be able to join us to celebrate in one of our favourite places in the world. If you could kindly complete this RSVP as soon as possible, ideally before the end of February, that would be greatly appreciated. Yiamas!

Your presence is genuinely the only gift we’d like.
As the wedding is abroad, please don’t feel any pressure to bring or send anything - celebrating together means more than enough!
